Goodtime Surf and Sail in Brisbane came to us needing a website capable of handling an enormous product portfolio, with their existing website listing over 2000 products at any one time. The problem though, was that the website was difficult to navigate and it was subsequently hard to find products. The categories were often confusing and it was not easy to get to different categories once you were in a category. Our aim was to redesign the website, fixing the confusing navigation and making it easy to get between every section of the website.
The new website now handles approximately 4000 products in over 500 categories, so it is vital that it is easy for users to find the information they need. By reviewing the categories and adjusting them to a more logical structure, we have set up the navigation to mimic the first two levels of categories, allowing users to jump between the majority of categories from any page.
In addition to this improvement, we have also made available blogging and newsletter functionality, which allows constant updates, showing the latest news and arrivals using a simple to use text editor. Other functionality includes search engine friendly URL's and the ability to specify keywords for each individual page, making it easy to optimise each page for search engines.
